Bernard Boateng doubled their lead in the 23rd minute to aid Al Ittihad Alexandria to end the first department of the match with a 2-0 lead.
Six minutes after recess, the visitors pulled one back through Sudanese forward Saifeldin Bakhit but the two-goal lead was restored by Khaled El Ghandour in the 84th minute to end the fixture in a 3-1 win for the host.
The former Elmina Sharks talismanic forward lasted for 59 minutes before he was replaced by Mahmoud Shabana while his compatriot Moro Salifu, formerly of Bechem United enjoyed the full duration of the game.
