Evans Botchway, an 18-year-old Ghanaian forward, delivered a standout performance with a hat trick in IF Brommapojkarna’s dominant 5-0 win over IFK Östersund in the Swedish Cup on Wednesday.
Botchway, who joined Brommapojkarna from Accra Lions, scored in the 43rd, 53rd, and 61st minutes, showcasing his exceptional pace and dribbling skills. Daleho Irandust opened the scoring in the 12th minute, and Ludvig Fritzson added the fifth goal in the 76th minute. This hat trick was Botchway’s first for Brommapojkarna and underscored his potential as one of Ghana's brightest young talents.
Previously, Botchway made a notable impact in the Ghana Premier League with Accra Lions, scoring twice in 19 matches. His performances earned him a place in Ghana's U-20 team, where he has scored two goals in three appearances.
Already with one goal in the 2024 Allsvenskan, Botchway is rapidly establishing himself in Swedish football. Brommapojkarna will next face AIK in the Allsvenskan on August 25th, aiming to build on their impressive cup performance.
