Ghanaian striker Joel Fameyeh opened his goal account for Puskás Akadémia on Saturday, netting a crucial late equalizer in a 2-2 draw against Paksi FC in the Hungarian NB I at the Fehérvár Stadium.
Fameyeh came off the bench in the second half and made an immediate impact, scoring in stoppage time to secure a valuable point for his side and keep their title hopes alive.
Paksi took the lead in the 21st minute through veteran forward Dániel Böde, who converted a penalty. Puskás responded in the 32nd minute with a well-placed strike from Hungary international Zsolt Nagy to level the score.
The hosts regained the lead in the 73rd minute when defender Barna Tóth found the net, capitalizing shortly after Nagy missed a penalty that could have put Puskás ahead.
Fameyeh was introduced just after the hour mark, replacing Gambian forward Lamin Colley. The Ghanaian striker made his presence felt by scoring two minutes into added time to rescue a point for Puskás.
Since joining the club during the winter transfer window, Fameyeh has now scored once in six appearances.
Puskás Akadémia remain at the top of the Hungarian top-flight standings as they continue their pursuit of a historic first-ever league title, with close competition from Ferencvárosi TC and Paksi FC.
