CF Montreal completed a stunning victory over Chicago Fire FC to go three matches without a defeat in the Major League Soccer (MLS) Eastern Conference.
Montreal stunned the cellar dwellers when they took the lead early in the first half (21st minute) through a Josef Martinez goal.
Laurent Courtois' side waited long to respond with another goal as Caden Clark put L'Impact out of sight, scoring in the 74th minute with a well-worked assist from Kwadwo Opoku Mahala who came off the bench in the 72nd minute to complete the scintillating victory.
Dependable Ghanaian winger Kwadwo Opoku Mahala has now scored two goals, with one assist in 13 games this season.
The result sees CF Montreal move up to 10th in the MLS Eastern Conference table. Chicago Fire sit in 14th place in the table.
CF Montreal will face San Jose Earthquakes at home on Saturday, September 28 at the Saputo Stadium, before they travel to the Mercedes-Benz Stadium to face Atlanta United on the 2nd day of October.
