Kerala Blasters forward Kwame Peprah came off the bench to score and earn the Yellow Army their first win of the season with a dramatic 2-1 victory over East Bengal FC on Sunday at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.
It looked like the Red & Gold Brigade were going to heap further misery on the Yellow Army, having led through Vishnu Valappill’s goal in the second half (59th minute).
But Kerala boss Mikael Stahre effected some tactical change, and also made an inspired quintet substitution, one of them the introduction of Peprah, who went on to score in the last 2 minutes to give the hosts a first home victory.
Chances for Kerala were at a premium, as Peprah's goal which he latched-in on the 88th minute was his first of the 2024-25 Indian Super League.
