Ghanaian midfielder Kwame Poku delivered a stellar performance to help Peterborough United secure a dramatic 4-3 victory over Notts County in the second round of the English FA Cup on Saturday at the Weston Homes Stadium.
The 23-year-old played the full 90 minutes and was instrumental in the win, providing the assist for Ricky-Jade Jones’ opening goal in the 10th minute.
Notts County, however, fought back with two quick strikes from Cedwyn Scott and Matty Platt, taking a 2-1 lead into halftime.
Peterborough rallied in the second half, with Ricky-Jade Jones scoring his second goal in the 73rd minute to equalize. Joel Randall then gave the home side the lead, finishing off an assist from Abraham Odoh.
Odoh further cemented the victory with a late goal in the 87th minute, making it 4-2. Notts County’s George Abbott pulled one back in stoppage time, but it wasn’t enough to deny Peterborough the win.
Poku has been in scintillating form for Peterborough this season, registering 10 goals and 8 assists in 19 appearances across all competitions. His consistent performances continue to make him a standout player for the League One side.
