English-born Ghanaian forward Michelle Agyemang has signed with Brighton and Hove Albion Ladies on a season-long loan deal from Arsenal during the transfer window.
The 18-year-old England youth international, who developed through Arsenal's youth academy, made the move to Brighton in search of regular first-team action for the upcoming campaign. Agyemang is regarded as a promising young talent, and Brighton manager Dario Vidosic expressed excitement about the addition to his squad.
“We’re delighted to welcome Michelle to the club. She is a goalscorer and an excellent playmaker," Vidosic said. "It’s clear to see her talent and potential in the game, and she will give us another exciting option in attack. We’re looking forward to seeing what she can add to our team this season.”
Agyemang made her senior debut for Arsenal in 2022 during a Women's Super League match against Leicester City, and scored her first goal for the Gunners in an FA Cup clash against Leeds United in January 2023.
Though born in England to Ghanaian parents, Agyemang remains eligible to represent Ghana’s national team, the Black Queens. She recently played a key role for the England U19 side that reached the semi-finals of the European U19 Championship this past summer.
