Ghanaian attacker Prince Kwabena Adu produced an impressive performance, providing an assist to help Viktoria Plzen secure a 2-0 home victory over Dukla Praha in Round 19 of the Czech 1. Liga.
Adu featured for the full 90 minutes and left a strong impression at the Doosan Aréna, playing a key role in Plzen’s attacking play throughout the encounter.
The lively forward troubled the Dukla defence from the opening whistle with his sharp movement and quick touches. His efforts were rewarded in the 65th minute when he surged into space and delivered a composed square pass for Václav Jemelka, who finished from close range to double Plzen’s advantage.
Plzen had taken the lead shortly before halftime, with Rafiu Durosinmi opening the scoring in the 41st minute after sustained pressure, assisted by Matěj Vydra. The hosts dominated long spells of the game, enjoying superior possession and creating the clearer chances.
Dukla Praha attempted to respond after the break but struggled to penetrate a well-organised Plzen defence. Adu remained influential until the final whistle, helping his side control proceedings and preserve the clean sheet.
Viktoria Plzen will now shift focus to their upcoming UEFA Europa League fixture against FC Porto, as they continue their busy schedule on both domestic and European fronts.
