Ghanaian midfielder Emmanuel Lomotey has embarked on a loan journey to Ethnikos Achna FC, a top-tier club in Cyprus, in an effort to gain more playing time and recapture his previous form.

The 25-year-old has officially joined Ethnikos on a season-long loan, committing to stay with the team until June 2024.

Lomotey's decision to seek a loan move follows a challenging period at Malmo FF, a Swedish Allsvenskan club, where he faced difficulties securing a regular spot in the starting lineup.

Despite his promising start after joining from Amiens SC in France the previous year, Lomotey's performances have been inconsistent, impeding his progress within the club.

During his time at Malmo, Lomotey managed only seven appearances across various competitions, contributing with just one assist.

It is worth noting that Lomotey still has three more years remaining on his contract with Malmo, which will extend until June 2026.

Prior to his move to France in August 2020, Lomotey enjoyed successful spells at Spanish clubs Extremadura UD and Villarreal CF B.
