Ghanaian midfielder Michael Baidoo delivered an outstanding performance for Elfsborg in their 2-1 victory over GAIS in the Swedish Allsvenskan on Sunday.
The 25-year-old played the full 90 minutes, playing a key role in Elfsborg's triumph in the week 18 fixture at Borås Arena.
Baidoo made his mark early, opening the scoring just eight minutes into the match with a powerful strike that gave Elfsborg the lead.
GAIS responded quickly with an equalizer in the 14th minute, courtesy of Alexander Ahl Holmström. However, Elfsborg regained their advantage before halftime, thanks to an own goal from GAIS defender Anes Cardaklija. This goal allowed the hosts to head into the break with a 2-1 lead.
Despite being reduced to 10 men in the 66th minute, Elfsborg displayed remarkable resilience and determination, holding onto their lead to secure all three points.
Baidoo’s compatriots, Jalal Abdulai and Terry Yegbe, also featured in the game, contributing to Elfsborg’s hard-fought victory.
