Ghanaian Midfielder, Salis Abdul Samed says he joined RC Lens ahead of Olympique de Marseille because he wanted to progress in his career.
Salis Abdul Samed joined RC Lens from Clermont Foot for a reported €5 million this summer.
The 23-year-old have impressed since joining RC Lens, scoring once in nine French Ligue 1 games.
Salis Abdul Samed says he joined RC Lens ahead of Olympique de Marseille because of his development.
"Going to Marseille straight away wouldn't have been good for me," he said.
"It's not that I wasn't ready, but I wanted to progress as I wanted. Marseille insisted, but I said to my agent that I wanted to progress in a certain way.
"I preferred Lens for my career. And here, I have been progressing since my arrival, in my way of breaking the lines, of playing forward, of fixing.
"I have already taken a very small step thanks to the contribution of the coach," he added.
