The German-born who developed in the youth ranks of Borussia Mönchengladbach, Fortuna Köln, and Schalke 04 is expected to bring huge competition in the fronline of Sint-Truiden.
Barnes, 21, was a key cog at Schalke 04's youth fiddle, featuring in 39 games, scoring three goals and adding three assists.
He was recently in the books of Latvia's FC Riga where he netted seven goals and fired four assists in 29 games across all competitions with that form attracting the attention of some of Europe's top clubs.
Barnes was part of the Black Satellites team that won the U-20 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in 2021.
