Dutch-born Ghanaian young attacker Ernest Poku was on target again for AZ Alkmaar against Real Madrid in UEFA Youth League on Wednesday afternoon.

AZ Alkmaar secured a semi-final spot in the 2022/23 UEFA Youth League after drubbing the U19 side of the European giants 4-0 in an entertaining fixture at the AFAS Training Complex in Netherlands.

On the 29th minute, Poku registered his name on the score sheet by doubling the lead for AZ Alkmaar after two-goal hero Daniel Beukers had opened the floodgate in the 25th minute of the game.

Dutch U21 star Mexx Meerdink extended their lead to 3-0 on the 78th minute with a brilliant strike before Daniel Beukers completed their demolition exercise with his second goal on the 85th minute.

The 19-year-old was in action for 80 minutes while Jayden Addai lasted for 72 minutes with 18-year-old goalkeeper Rome Jayden Owusu-Oduro keeping a clean sheet for AZ Alkmaar.

Poku has notched up five goals in six games in the UEFA Youth League this season so far.

Young goalkeeper Owusu-Oduro, Jayden Addai and Ernest Poku are all eligible to represent Ghana in future despite playing for Netherlands at the youth levels.

Earlier this year, Poku signed a new three-year contract to keep him at AZ Alkmaar until the summer of 2026.
