The midfielder of Ghanaian descent is currently on the radar of the French top-flight outfit duo in a bid secure his signature this summer
French Ligue 1 sides RC Lens and RC Strasbourg Alsace are interested in signing Ghanaian teenager Alex Matos on loan from English Premier League heavyweights Chelsea.
Following an outstanding performance on loan at EFL championship side Huddersfield Town last term, the 19-year-old has attracted attention among suitors, with the aforementioned French clubs already jostling for his signature this summer.
French tabloid L’Équipe have indicated that the owners of the talented midfielder are willing to loan him to fellow BlueCo-owned side RC Strasbourg Alsace at the expense of their rivals competitor although he is believed to be fancying a move to RC Lens going forward.
Matos is currently with the Chelsea U21 youth team and his contract with the Blues is due to expire in June 2026.
Given his Ghanaian heritage, he still remains eligible to represent Ghana at the international level despite playing for the England U20 national team.
