Ghanaian forward Kwame Poku delivered an outstanding performance for Peterborough United on Tuesday night, scoring a goal and providing an assist in the team's emphatic 5-1 win against Blackpool in their English League One clash.
Peterborough established dominance early in the Round 13 fixture, with Malik Mothersille opening the scoring in the 8th minute, assisted by Joel Randall. Just nine minutes later, Randall doubled the lead, placing the hosts in a commanding position.
Blackpool momentarily found hope when Kyle Joseph scored a consolation goal in the 27th minute. However, the joy was short-lived as Poku quickly restored Peterborough's two-goal cushion just a minute later, finishing after being set up by Mothersille.
The Ghanaian international wasn't finished yet; in the 73rd minute, he assisted Joel Randall for his second goal of the match and Peterborough's fifth. An own goal by Blackpool's Odeluga Offiah in the 71st minute further compounded the visitors' woes, sealing a resounding victory for the home side.
Poku's performance was a standout highlight of the evening, as his contributions were instrumental in Peterborough's attacking display.
This impressive 5-1 win bolsters Peterborough’s position in the English League One standings as they continue their pursuit of promotion.
