Ghanaian youth defender Abasa Aremeyaw has officially joined Major League Soccer side Philadelphia Union on a free transfer.
The 18-year-old centre-back has signed two-year deal with Philadelphia Union, with club options for 2025 and 2026.
He will be added to the active roster when his P1 visa and international transfer certificate are received. Aremeyaw, who turns 19 this month, will take an international roster slot.
"Abasa is a promising young player who has the physique and skill to develop into a contributor in our back line," said Ernst Tanner, the Philadelphia Union's sporting director.
"His demonstrated ability to make an impact on set plays, combined with his speed and agility, makes him a good fit in the strong defensive system we have built. We look forward to integrating him into the team."
The 6-foot-3 Aremeyaw most recently played for MSK Zilina B in 2. Liga, Slovakia's second-tier league, and made seven appearances (all starts).
He is yet to feature for Ghana at any level.
