Jesurun Rak-Sakyi was on the scoresheet for Charlton Athletic as his side won 5-1 against Plymouth Argyle at the Valley stadium on Tuesday evening.

19-year-old Ghanaian forward Jesurun Rak-Sakyi marked his long-awaited debut for EFL League One side Charlton Athletic with a goal against Plymouth Argyle.

Rak-Sakyi played 63 minutes of the game and made a superb first impression with a goal as the Addicks wacked Plymouth Argyle.

The English-born Ghanaian broke the game's deadlock for the home side after 11 minutes to give Charlton the advantage after Argyle lose possession of the ball inside their own territory. A diagonal cross is played over the top of Dan Scarr and Jayden Stockley gets in a powerful header. The ball was parried away by Mike Cooper but dropped to Rak-Sakyi who has an open net to score on his debut.

Jayden Stockley and Rak-Sakyi's compatriot Sean Kweku Clare added the second and third goals respectively.

Determined to pull parity, Argyle manager Steven Schumacher made four changes in the opening 20 minutes of the second half.

And his tactical masterstroke yielded short dividends in the dying embers of the game as Argyle scored once in the 71st minute.

Despite the late goal, intrepid Charlton put themselves together to hold onto their lead and scored two more goal in the 76th and 84th minute to destroy the Pilgrims 5-1.
