Ghanaian midfielder Benjamin Afutu has officially joined Saudi Arabian side Al Taqadum on a free transfer after a fruitful negotiations.

 
The 26-year-old has been unattached after his contract with Egyptian top-tier club Eastern Company SC was terminated after nine months following an uninspiring performance.
 
He was linked with a return to Hearts of Oak but the club's management decided against his re-signing for the club's 2022/23 season's campaign.
 
He struggled for regular playing time at Eastern Company SC in his debut season where he made only eight appearances — 426 minutes — for the club in the ongoing Egypt Premier League season.
 
Afutu was pivotal for the Rainbow lads in the 2020/21 season, helping the club to win the Ghana Premier League and the MTN FA Cup. He made twenty-nine appearances for Hearts of Oak and scored five goals
