The 28-year-old midfield enforcer will no more be figured in any of his side's outings in this ongoing campaign after picking up a knee injury last week
Ghana and UD Almeria midfielder Baba Iddrisu has suffered a partial tear of the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee and will be out for the rest of the 2024/25 football season.
Having undergone further medical assessments, the former RCD Mallorca man has now been diagnosed with a grade 2 sprain in his internal lateral ligament of his left knee as confirmed by his team doctors.
Club's head of medical personnel Sebastián Jiménez has said the Ghana international will now be forced to undergo surgery but would be made to wait for four or five weeks in order to recover from the sprained internal lateral ligament before the operation will take place.
''The suspicions we had are now real and after consulting with several teammates we have agreed that Baba will have to undergo surgery, but he first has to recover from the sprained internal lateral ligament,'' the medical personnel told the club's official radio station as quoted by Mundo Deportivo
Before his injury setback, he featured in 10 league games for UD Almeria in the ongoing Spanish La Liga 2 2024/25 campaign.
Baba currently boasts of 29 caps for the Ghana men's senior national team, the Black Stars.
