Ghanaian defender Ivan Anokye Mensah made his senior team debut for Czech giants Sparta Praha in their triumphant victory over the weekend.

In the Czech First League, when Sparta Praha took on Zlin FC in Match Week 7, Ivan Anokye made his official league appearance by coming on in the 65th minute to reinforce the defense line, where his team cruised to a 3-1 win at full time.

The Ghana Black Satellites star joined Sparta in the summer transfer window and has gradually warmed himself into the first-team squad after spending several weeks with the B team, following strong consistent performances and regular calls from fans for his inclusion.

Born in 2004, Ivan has won two international trophies with Ghana at the U20 level—the WAFU Zone B and the AFCON—and has also gained significant experience abroad with stints at MSK Zilina and FC Banska in Slovakia before switching to the Chance Liga side.

Ivan's Sparta Praha currently leads the Czech First League log with 19 points after seven matches, accumulated from six wins and a draw.
