Dutch-born Ghanaian defender Jeremie Agyekum Frimpong scored and provided an assist in Bayer Leverkusen 3-2 win over RB Leipzig in the German Bundesliga opening games
Frimpong opened the score for Leverkusen with a brilliant strike with his right-foot on the 24th minute before Jonathan Tah doubled for the host ten minutes later.
In-form Dani Olmo reduced the deficit for Leipzig before the break to end the first half in 2-1.
Frimpong set-up Florian Wirtz to restore the two-goal lead for Bayer Leverkusen on the 64th minute of the game. A 71st minute from Lois Openda wasn't enough as it ended in 3-2 win for Leverkusen.
The 22-year-old was replaced by Arthur Augusto De Matos Soares after enjoying 78 minutes of the game while Timothy Fosu-Mensah warmed the bench of Leverkusen.
Frimpong is still eligible to represent Ghana at the senior level despite receiving call-ups to Netherlands.
