The Swedish second-tier outfit are set to secure the loan services of the 20-year-old defender ahead of the upcoming football campaign

Swedish Superettan side Degerfors IF are on the verge of signing Ghanaian youngster Kingsley Gyamfi on a season-long loan deal from Hammarby lF.

The Degerfors-based club have said the MSK Zilina African FC graduate will be joining their camp in order to " familiarize himself with the association and train with the team" in the coming days ahead of his possible loan switch from his mother club for the 2024/25 Superettan contest.

" Center back Kingsley Gyamfi is visiting Degerfors IF in the coming days. The 20-year-old Ghanaian belongs to Hammarby IF, but is visiting Degerfors IF to familiarize himself with the association and train with the team. A loan is being discussed between the clubs."

"Kingsley Gyamfi came to Hammarby in 2022 from MSK Zilina Africa FC, which is based in Ghana's capital Accra. Since he came to Hammarby, it is primarily the association's P19 team and HTFF in Ettan Norra that he has played with. During 2023, he played 27 out of 30 games in Ettan Norra. In January, he was moved up to Hammarby's A team," read a statement from Degerfos IF.

Gyamfi became a prime transfer target for MLS outfit Austin FC during the winter transfer window following his promising displays with the Hammarby lF youth ranks.

He remains an important figure for the Allsvanskan campaigners, hence the decision to move him on over a loan deal to continue with his development as a rising star given his prospect for the main team set-up in the near future.
