Ghanaian defender Maxwell Woledzi has made his first appearance for Major League Soccer side Nashville SC in a pre-season friendly against Chicago Fire.

The centre-back, who is also a former Ghana youth international, joined Nashville SC last week after moving from Norwegian club Fredrikstad. He linked up with the team in the United States as they began preparations for the new season.

After starting pre-season training in Tennessee, Nashville travelled to Florida to play a series of friendly matches. Woledzi was named in the starting line-up against Chicago Fire.

However, Nashville made a full change of players midway through the first half, with the team already two goals down. Chicago Fire went on to win the match 4–1.

The 24-year-old will take up an international roster spot for Nashville SC ahead of the 2026 MLS season.

Before his move to the United States, the Right to Dream Academy graduate played for FC Nordsjælland, Vitória Guimarães, and Fredrikstad, gaining experience in Denmark, Portugal and Norway.
