Ghanaian forward Naeem Mohammed was on target as Halmstads BK secured a hard-fought 2-0 victory over AIK in the Swedish Allsvenskan on Sunday, boosting their campaign with a vital three points.
Mohammed scored his side's second goal in the 29th minute at Örjans Vall Stadium, latching onto a pass from Ludvig Arvidsson and firing past AIK goalkeeper Kristoffer Nordfeldt.
The goal was Mohammed's third of the season, which set the tone for Halmstads, who controlled large spells of the first half.
The Ghanaian who was deployed on the right wing by coach Johan Lindholm sealed the win with his goal for the hosts, who moved up to 10th in the standings.
The 24-year-old Ghanaian has been a key figure for Halmstads since joining in 2023, known for his work rate and instinctive finishing in the final third.
Halmstads next face Hacken in a round 1 fixture, while AIK will look to rebound against Degerfors.
