Ghanaian forward Terry Ablade is set to leave Fulham FC following the expiration of his contract, bringing an end to his time with the Premier League club after several years of development in their youth and reserve teams.
The 23-year-old, who joined Fulham from Finnish side HJK Helsinki in 2018, spent the majority of his time in the club's U18 and U21 setups, and later featured for the U23s in the Premier League 2.
While he never made a senior appearance for Fulham's first team, Ablade was highly regarded for his pace, work rate, and versatility across the front line.
Fulham officially confirmed his departure in their retained list published this week, thanking the striker for his contributions to the club during his tenure.
““The Club can confirm that Willian and Carlos Vinicius will depart Fulham upon the expiry of their respective contracts at the end of this month,” the club said in a brief statement. “Departing players: Carlos Vinicius, Willian, Terry Ablade, Luca Ashby-Hammond, Chris Donnell, Imani Lanquedoc, Connor McAvoy, Delano McCoy-Splatt, Callum McFarlane, Damon Park, Stefan Parkes, Luca Picotto, Oscar Varney.”
Ablade, born in Accra to Ghanaian parents, but moved to Finland at the age of seven and has represented Finland at youth international level, but still remains eligible to feature for the Ghana senior national team—the Black Stars.
The promising attacker had loan spells at AFC Wimbledon and Carlisle United during his time in England, gaining valuable first-team experience in the EFL. Ablade played the 2024/25 season on loan at Scottish side Partick Thistle.
With his contract now concluded with the Cottagers, Ablade will be available as a free agent and is expected to attract interest from clubs across Europe, particularly in Scandinavia and lower-tier English sides.
