Ghanaian forward Kwasi Okyere Wriedt has officially signed for Alemannia Aachen, a club competing in Germany’s 3. Liga, as he looks to reignite his career with regular football and fresh motivation.
The 30-year-old striker joins Aachen for an undisclosed fee after featuring in 17 games and netting three goals for Şanlıurfaspor in the recently-concluded Turkish First League season,
He spent two seasons in the 2. Bundesliga with Holstein Kiel. Wriedt, a powerful and experienced attacker, brings a wealth of knowledge from the German league system, having previously featured for clubs like Bayern Munich II, Willem II in the Eredivisie, and VfL Osnabrück.
Alemannia Aachen confirmed the acquisition on their official channels, expressing delight at landing a forward of Wriedt’s pedigree. The club sees him as a key addition to their push for promotion in the 2024/25 campaign.
Wriedt rose to prominence during his prolific spell with Bayern Munich II, where he finished as the top scorer in the 3. Liga during the 2019/20 season. His performances earned him a call-up to the Ghana national team, where he has made a handful of appearances for the Black Stars.
Despite a quieter spell in recent seasons, Wriedt remains a proven goal-scorer at this level and will be aiming to recapture the form that once made him one of Germany's most consistent strikers outside the top flight.
The move to Alemannia Aachen represents a chance for the Hamburg-born Ghanaian to play regular football, take on a leadership role, and help one of Germany’s historic clubs climb back up the ladder.
