LA Galaxy boss, Greg Vanney has lauded "dangerman" Joseph Painstil following his impressive performance over the weekend.

The Ghana international scored his first goal and went on to add an assist as LA Galaxy recorded an impressive 3-1 win against San Jose Earthquakes in MLS on Sunday.

Speaking after the game, Vanney lauded the former Genk forward.

According to him, Painstil is a real tormentor - has exceptional qualities and added that they are elated to have him at the club.

"The transition played a big part in the game tonight. Obviously in transition, his speed, his quality in the open field gets us going. His quickness, speed on the dribble and ability to carry (the ball) at speed all that gets us going in transition and we had some big important moments in that way tonight," Vanney said.

“He is a quality wide, danger wide, goal scoring threat who sets up goals from wide positions. It’s going to be difficult to clog up the middle and leave him in one on one situations or leave him in wide situations.

"He gives us a whole new threat or danger that we haven’t seen or had.

“I look forward to see him lead the team to success in the 2024 MLS, because I see what this team is capable of even on a night like tonight, and knowing the guys are still coming together and getting healthy and all that kind of stuff, I really am excited about the group we have,” the LA Galaxy coach added.
