The Swedish top-flight outfit have reportedly captured the talented teenage sensation and would be putting pen to paper when he turns 18 later this month
Hammarby IF have secured Ghanaian teen Bernard Acheampong from Ghanaian Division Two club Asanska Football Club, report Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet, with the budding star set to officially ink his deal after he turns 18 later this January.
The 17-year-old was believed to have caught the attention of the Allsvenskan side during their scouting mission in Ghana in November this year.
According to a report by Fotbollskanalen, the club's sporting director Mikael Hjelmberg has confirmed to them that the much anticipated deal of their contractual obligations with the starlet is yet to be finalised as they look forward to teaming up with him in Spain for their pre-season ahead of the 2025 Allsvenskan football season.
''There are still some logistics involved, but the ambition is to get it done. The ambition is to get him down to Spain and that's where the A-team are currently,'' the Hammarby IF chief is quoted as saying by Fotbollskanalen.
Bernard has so far been tipped for greatness by those who have honed his talent as a budding star and would be expected to make the grade in the Swedish top-flight.
