The highly-rated talented teenage sensation of Ghanaian heritage chalked up the feat after making his maiden appearance with the Reserve side of the Cupfighters in yesterday's Keuken Kampioen Divisie
Dutch-born Ghanaian wonderkid Donovan Afrifa has made history by becoming the youngest-ever outfield player to play in the Dutch Eerste Divisie with Jong FC Utrecht.
The budding prodigy defender reached the milestone in his professional league debut at the age of 15 years and 140 days old to surpass the record of Dutch-Angolan teenager Jadiel Pereira da Gama who made his professional debut with PEC Zwolle at the age of 15 years and 243 days old in August 2025.

Donovan was introduced into the game on the 80th-minute as his side lost to De Graafschap by 2-1 in their away fixture of the Eerste Divisie on Friday.
Right after chalking up the magnificent feat, the Ghana-prospect centre-back starlet has told ESPN Nederland: ''When I heard that I would be in the squad, I went to my mother; she was happy and proud. My father and mother were there and are proud, and I am proud too. My dream is to become a starting player in the first team and become one of the very best.''
Head coach of Jong FC Utrecht Mark Otten added: ''I select boys who I think are good enough to make a contribution. I don’t look at age. He plays very maturely, not like a 15-year-old. He is very consistent in his choices. Good enough is old enough, as they say. That applies to Donovan as well.''

The teenage sensation defender, who is currently with the FC Utrecht U17 setup, has so far made 4 appearances in the 26/27 Dutch U17 Division 1 Case (Youth League).
Given his Ghanaian roots, the Almere-born native could become a cornerstone in the heart of defence for the Ghana national football team should the Ghana FA put in much efforts to secure his international allegiances in the near future despite playing for the Netherlands U15 national youth team so far in his international football career.
