The busy January transfer window continues in the special administrative region of China, as Hong Kong Rangers FC have announced the signing of Maxwell Ansah.

 


The former Ghana youth international bolsters Wong Chin Hung's defensive options, as the 2-year-old comes in to provide competition for Daisuke Fukagawa and Fernando Lopes Alcântara at full-back.


Ansah joins the Tivoli Garden based side after spending three years playing for Japanese club's Ococias Kyoto and Michinoku Sendai, having moved from Ghana in 2021.



During his time playing in Ghana's division two league during his high school days where he met current Rangers teammate and compatriot Ibrahim Nassam Yakubu.



In his first words as a Rangers player the former Inter Allies and Vision FC player said, “I and Ibrahim Nassam Yakubu already played football together in high school. I am very happy to be teammates again.



"I have always been in contact with Ibrahim, and I also communicated with him before coming to Hong Kong.



"He said that Rangers is a good football club, and my teammates welcome my arrival."
