Ghana international Mohammed Kudus has paid glowing tribute to Tottenham Hotspur captain Son Heung-min, describing the South Korean forward as a player he holds in high regard for both his talent and character.

Kudus, who recently joined Spurs, praised Son’s professionalism and influence on younger players, referencing their encounter at the 2022 FIFA World Cup as a formative moment in his career.

“I have so much respect and admiration for him,” Kudus said. “We played against each other in the World Cup. I just love how he plays.”

Son, widely recognised for his electrifying pace, finishing and humility, has become a role model in world football. Kudus said he is honoured to now play alongside the 32-year-old, even after only having faced him previously as an opponent.

“He has done a lot for the club and I’m grateful to have come here and played with him. He has been a great example for us, from how he trains and carries himself — so big up to him.”

The 24-year-old midfielder, who enjoyed a breakout season with West Ham before his move, added that Son represents the level of excellence and leadership he hopes to emulate as he continues his rise in the Premier League.
