Young Ghanaian defender David Oduro is determined to seize his opportunity at FC Barcelona after becoming the first player to be signed directly from Ghana to the Spanish giants.
The 18-year-old left-back, who joined from Accra Lions on a three-year deal, had also trialed with Chelsea and Bayer Leverkusen before securing his transfer to Barcelona.
In an interview with Sporty TV, Oduro shared his ambitions and the hard work ahead: "This is the time for me to work hard, not to relax. I have to push extra hard to earn a place in the first team."
He continued, "The goal is to break into the first team, play in the Champions League, and represent the Ghana national team."
Oduro, who will begin his journey with Barcelona B, expressed his admiration for the club's playing style, which played a major role in his decision to join. "I love their style of play. I visited, saw the project, and I can’t wait to get started."
With his eyes set on a bright future, Oduro is eager to impress both Barcelona and Ghana.
