Ghana and RSC Anderlecht midfielder Majeed Ashimeru has expressed excitement after starting this season without any injury worries and is looking forward to getting more game time to improve as the season progresses.

The 26-year-old spent majority of part of last season nursing injuries having sustained one when on national duty in a game against Mozambique early this year in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

He made just 15 appearances last season in all competitions for Anderlecht but has started this campaign on a good note so far with eight outings in all competitions with a goal to his belt.

After marking his Europa League debut against Ferencvaros, the mercurial playmaker feels very happy and is hoping to stay fully fit and have more playing time.

"It has been good overall because last year I had too many injuries so I'm now coming up step by step.

“Overall, I would say I feel really good to play for this club and also the city, the supporters, everyone. I'm just hoping I can make the next step,” he told Flashscore after making his Europa League debut in Anderlecht’s 2-1 win over Ferencvaros.

"The more games you play, the better because it's a good feeling. For me personally, I think it's a good phase to play so many games."

Majeed Ashimeru will wish to make the starting line up when they travel to Dender in the next round of matches this weekend.
