Ghanaian forward Ibrahim Sadiq produced a brilliant performance on Thursday night, scoring twice to inspire AZ Alkmaar to a dominant 4-1 victory over Levski Sofia in the UEFA Europa Conference League playoffs.
Sadiq, who has been in scintillating form for the Dutch side in recent weeks, wasted no time in making his mark, opening the scoring in just the 3rd minute.
AZ doubled their advantage three minutes later through Mexx Meerdink, who finished off a fine assist from Mees de Wit.
Before the break, Sadiq struck again to complete his brace and give AZ a commanding 3-0 lead heading into halftime.
Levski Sofia briefly threatened a comeback early in the second half when Everton Bala scored in the 46th minute, but AZ restored their dominance late in the game as Lequincio Zeefuik netted in the 86th minute to seal the emphatic win.
The result handed AZ Alkmaar a 6-1 aggregate triumph, securing their place in the Europa Conference League group stage.
