Former Ghana youth attacker Ibrahim Sadiq opened his season's scoring account for AZ Alkmaar against Almere City FC in the Dutch Eredivisie on Saturday evening.
Sadiq, who was handed starting berth, secured a crucial 1-0 away win for AZ Alkmaar against Almere City in their season's opener at the Yanmar Stadion.
The ex-Ghana U17 forward opened the scoring who was the only goal produced in the fixture in the 4th minute with a right-footed shot from the center of the box, following a swift counterattack.
The match was marred by red cards, with AZ Alkmaar's Maxim Dekker sent off in the 18th minute of the game.
Almere City FC suffered a double setback when Baptiste Guillaume and Ricardo Visus received red cards in the 34th and 79th minutes, respectively.
Sadiq lasted for 57 minutes of the game before he was replaced by Dutch-born Ghanaian winger Ernest Poku.
