The transformative enforcer has been farmed out to the Stadio Renato Dall'Ara outfit until the end of the 2025–26 season's campaign.

Italian Serie A side Bologna have completed the loan signing of Ghana midfielder Ibrahim Sulemana from Atalanta BC on the 2025-26 summer transfer deadline day, Kickgh.com can exclusively confirm

Sulemana, who ended last season in incredible form under Gian Piero Gasperini, has been loaned out to a fellow Serie A club, as new coach Ivan Juric does not see him as part of his plans for the season.

The 22-year-old was left out of Atalanta BC's league opener against Pisa and also watched their 1-1 away draw at Parma on the bench.

He popped up on the radar of his former club, Cagliari Calcio, and Parma, but Bologna have won the battle to secure the Ghana international on a season-long loan deal worth €1 million with an option to buy, which is €11 million.

Sulemana joined the Blue-Blacks in the last summer transfer window following his incredible performance for Serie A campaigners Cagliari Calcio in a deal worth €7.4 million.

The versatile midfield anchor didn’t really get much game time in Bergamo but has always made good use of the few opportunities that came his way, having made 10 appearances in all competitions last term with two goals to his belt.

He was voted the club’s player of the month for May, having notched twice, including one against AS Roma – a goal that punched Atalanta their ticket to this season's UEFA Champions League.

Sulemana is currently in the camp of the Black Stars of Ghana preparing for the crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers against Mali and Chad.
