Newly-signed Nottingham Forest winger, Callum Hudson-Odoi scored a beauty on his debut last Monday night in a 1-1 draw against Burnley and feels very elated to have done that in front of the home fans.
The 22-year-old joined the Reds on a three-year deal on the deadline day of the just-closed summer transfer window after ending his incredible sixteen-year spell with Chelsea FC.
He was included in the starting line up by Steve Cooper and made a good use of the opportunity handed to him at the City Ground.
He scored a most-anticipated equalizer with a beauty just at the edge of the box on the 61st minute, after Swiss international Zeki Amdouni had already snatched the lead for the visitors before half time.
In a post-match interview, the skillful flanksman described why he decided to go for his goal that way and added that, he is overwhelmed to mark his Nottingham Forest debut with a goal. He said;
"When [Taiwo Awoniyi] dropped it back to me I had one thing on my mind and that was just to hit it," he told Forest TV.
"I saw the angle and I thought if I get this inch-perfect this definitely goes in - which it did, so it was perfect.
"There was much to aim for so it had to be right in that corner. It was perfect to get a goal like that.
"It's amazing to get a goal like that in front of everybody here in my first game for the club, but it's disappointing not to get the three [points].
"I'm happy - happy with the goal, happy with the performance, I think we all are. But we know we can do better."
He will hope to make the starting line up once more when they face champions Manchester City this weekend.
