Black Stars captain, Andre Ayew had a very disappointing debut for French side Le Havre this weekend, one he never anticipated after being sent off in just two minutes after his introduction in their goalless draw against Nantes over the weekend.
The 33-year-old despite starting the season without a club was unveiled before the November international break as new player of the newly-promoted French Ligue 1 side.
Andre was subbed on to replace Loïc Négo on the 65th minute to mark his Le Havre debut, but was red carded just two minutes later after a terrible tackle on Swiss defender Eray Cormet.
Reacting to the unfortunate incident, the ex- Marseille and West Ham star explained the whole situation and how it was unintentional but added he is very calm as he hopes to bounce back stronger.
"Yes, it's true that it's soccer, it's soccer. I think that with enough experience, you can take a step back from situations, but I'm pretty calm after seeing the images again."
"In terms of the game, in terms of the action, what I interpret is here he comes, there's a ball in thirty-fifty-fifty that's really being played between the two of them. He throws himself, he throws himself before me, I see him throw himself, he's going to get the ball before me, I lift my foot, trying to hold it back and on the way to land I brush against his shin guard. And that's it, that was the referee's decision."
Andre Ayew will miss the big game against league leaders PSG on Sunday, December 3, 2024.
