Ghanaian international Inaki Williams was on target to propel Athletic Bilbao to a 1-2 preseason away win at lower-division side Racing de Santander last Wednesday at the Estadio El Sardinero.
The Black Stars striker made the starting line up and lasted the entire first half having opened the scoring account on the 39th minute after tapping in from Andoni's cross from right.
He was really impressive throughout the game as he didn't only stay upfront as the arrow head but was always switching to both flanks to help augment the efforts in attack before making way for youngster Álvaro Djaló on the 46th minute.
In the early stages of the second half, Peio Canales doubled the lead for the Rojiblancos before Yeray Cabanzon pulled one back for the host on the 69th minute.
Inaki Williams and his other Athletic teammates are looking to have themselves adequately ready for the upcoming season and is currently without his brother Nico- who is still on holidays.
Athletic Bilbao will face Portuguese champions Sporting CP in their next game on Saturday, July 27, 2024.
