Spezia Calcio manager, Leonardo Semplici has rallied at the defence of club captain Emmanuel Gyasi as they were who scored in their 3-2 away loss at Atalanta on Wednesday at the Gewiss Stadium in the Italian Serie A.

However, Atalanta pulled parity in the 32nd minute through Dutch midfield dazzler Marten De Roon before recess.
Davide Zappacosta and Columbian international Luis Muriel Fruto scored the second and third goal respectively for Atalanta to find themselves in front.
Spezia grew into the game as it went on and got a consolation goal through Moroccan midfielder Mehdi Bourabia in the 64th minute.
Speaking after the game, the 55 year old gaffer states it will be unfair to criticize the Black Stars forward for not getting goals and added he is an very experienced and an important figure for the team.
"He is an important player for us, he is the captain, he has made a hundred appearances in Serie A for Spezia and has more belonging and feels the moment more. We all have positive and less positive moments, but his attachment and his show of respect for the colors made it.
“It's unfair to criticize him more than the time has come, but we understand the fans who care about us and have been close to us. There was a very positive confrontation after the match, they made us understand the closeness after the match and it is crucial for salvation."
Gyasi has bumped-in two goals in 30 outings for Spezia in the Serie A this campaign.
