The man on the touchline at the Easi Arena has confirmed his side's interest in securing the loan services of the 28-year-old midfielder, with the gaffer saying it would be a ''huge asset'' for his outfit if they land him this January

Belgian Pro League side RAAL La Louvière manager Frédéric Taquin has stated that it would be a great pleasure for him to have Ghana international midfielder Majeed Ashimeru from league rivals RSC Anderlecht.

The former Red Bull Salzburg midfielder, who has been frozen out at the Lotto Park, is all set to move on to interested suitors for the remainder of the current 2025-26 season.

Reports from the Belgian media have indicated that  RSC Anderlecht and RAAL La Louvière are nearing an agreement over the transfer loan move of the former FC St. Gallen loanee to the latter, with the deal expected to be finalised soon in the coming days as the winter transfer window nears its closure.

ln reaction to the speculation linking the ex-WAFA SC mercurial midfielder to the La Louvière-based club, the man in charge of the dugout at the Easi Arena has now affirmed his admiration for the Black Star as he looks forward to bolstering his midfield options with his acquisition for the rest of the season.

The Belgian manager has said of the 28-year-old as quoted by WALFOOT: ''It would be a great pleasure for me to have him (Majeed Ashimeru) with us. He could make our midfield more fluid.'' He added: ''At the moment, nothing is certain, but it would be a huge asset for the team.''

Since linking up with the Purple & White in 2021, the Ghana international has witnessed a torrid time with injuries - a situation that has limited his game time with the first-team and has now been relegated to the reserve side for the ongoing football season.

With the 2026 FIFA World Cup looming, the 12-time capped Ghana international midfielder will now be eager to link up with his current suitors as he hopes to make it to the global football event in June this year.
