Serie A side Fiorentina are weighing up a move for Brighton & Hove Albion defender Tariq Lamptey, with the Ghana international emerging as a possible reinforcement for the right flank.

According to reports, Fiorentina see Lamptey as an alternative to Brazilian full-back Dodo, providing depth and cover as the Viola prepare to kick off their 2025/26 campaign this weekend.

Lamptey, 23, is renowned for his blistering pace, attacking intelligence, and ability to stretch opposition defenses. However, his progress has often been disrupted by injuries. Last season, he was restricted to just 15 appearances, though he still managed to chip in two goals and several assists.

The Ghanaian full-back was notably left out of Brighton’s matchday squad in their season opener against Fulham, further fueling speculation about his future.

Since joining Brighton from Chelsea in 2020, Lamptey has amassed 104 appearances and three goals, establishing himself as a versatile option capable of playing as a traditional right-back or wing-back.

Fiorentina’s interest signals a potential fresh start for Lamptey in Serie A, where his explosive style could offer Vincenzo Italiano’s side a different dimension on the flanks.
