The Swedish second division side have confirmed the capturing of the 32-year-old defender, with his deal set to expire at the end of the current campaign

Ghanaian centre-back Joseph Boffoe has joined Superettan club Örebro SK on a short-term contract, the club have officially confirmed.

The ex-Helsingborgs IF defender was unattached since leaving Halmstads BK following the expiration of his contract at the end of the 2024-25 campaign.

Sporting director Enes Ahmetovic expressed his excitement after capturing the experienced Ghanaian defender as quoted by Swedish outlet Fotbollskanalen: ''It is of course very exciting to be able to present Joseph. The autumn is long and it will be extremely important for us in our search for a new contract. We are convinced that Joseph will be there and contribute with his quality and leadership. We are getting an experienced player with strong athletic qualities, where speed is not the least of his key qualities. We are delighted to welcome Joseph to ÖSK and we look forward to seeing him in black and white.''

Baffoe added: ''It feels great fun and exciting to be here and to take on this challenge. I'm coming to a nice and big club that is currently not where it should be. So I expect an autumn with a hungry team that will turn things around. A team that will give everything all the way to the end.''

He has a vast experience in football competitions having had spells with IFK Värnamo, Helsingborgs IF, Vålerenga, Halmstads BK, Eintracht Braunschweig and MSV Duisburg so far in his career.

The Ghanaian-born defender still remains fit to play for Ghana on the international stage having featured for the Swedish national youth teams.
