English-born Black Stars attacker, Brandon Thomas-Asante has sustained a new hamstring injury and his Coventry City manager Frank Lampard has admitted it’s going to be a major blow for them if he will sit out for a long-time.

The 26-year-old was in Championship action last night for the Sky Blues in a game they won by an emphatic 2-4 away at Middlesbrough but unfortunately he picked up the injury and left before the end of half-time.

The red-hot forward made the starting line up as usual but could last only 41 minutes after the setback and made way for English international Ephron Mason-Clark.

Speaking after the game, his coach Frank Lampard confirmed his starman has sustained a hamstring injury which might be more serious than they thought and is hoping to have him back as soon as possible for the remainder of the season.

“It's a hamstring. He said he didn't feel like it was a major tear, but it tightened up on him. So, it was a good thing he came off. Obviously, it's a concern for us, and we'll have to see how he is."

Brandon Thomas-Asante has been in a very explosive form this season with 10 goals and 3 assists in 17 matches in the Championship.

The extent of the injury is yet to be determined as player is currently doubtful for the game against Charlton Athletic this weekend.
