Coventry City manager Frank Lampard has reaffirmed his confidence in Ghana forward Brandon Thomas-Asante after the striker returned to the scoresheet in his side’s convincing win over Preston North End.

Thomas-Asante found the net in Coventry City FC’s 3-0 victory in the EFL Championship, helping the Sky Blues maintain their place at the top of the table with a six-point lead over Middlesbrough FC.

The Ghana international had started the 2025/26 campaign strongly, but his momentum was disrupted after an injury setback followed by a three-match suspension.

Speaking after the match, Lampard expressed his belief in the striker and said the goal could help him rediscover his rhythm.

“That’s what he gave us right early in the season. He had the injury and then the suspension, so it’s been a bit broken for him, but I’ve got a lot of faith and love for Brandon working with him every day,” Lampard said.

Lampard also highlighted Thomas-Asante’s physical strength, pace and pressing ability, describing him as an important part of Coventry’s attacking setup.

The Ghanaian forward has now registered 11 goals and four assists in 25 Championship appearances this season
