Istanbul Basaksehir defender Jerome Opoku registered his first-ever goal for the Black Stars of Ghana against Uganda in an international friendly.
Opoku opened the scoring for Otto Addo's side in the 6th minute with a fine header from a corner-kick effected by Jordan Ayew.
The Cranes of Uganda levelled the score from the spot through Asante Kotoko striker Steven Mukwala after Fahad Bayo had been impeded by Ebenezer Annan.
Ayew restored the lead for the Black Stars after brilliantly converting a spot-kick awarded to the team following a foul on Denis Odoi in the 27th minute of the game.
Uganda snatched a late equalizer in the 88th minute to end the match in a 2-2 stalemate at the Stade Grade Marrakech in Morocco.
Opoku made a return to the Black Stars under the newly appointed coach Otto Addo following his explosive performances in the Turkish Super Lig with Istanbul Basaksehir.
The towering centre-back has had an incredible campaign at Istanbul Basaksehir in his debut season, scoring four goals and providing an assist in 20 league appearances.
