Wednesday night saw the Bayern Munich U19 side welcome Benfica U19 to the Bayern Campus Platz 1 – although it was a warm welcome, the visitors came with a shellacking motive.
René Maric coached yet another stalemate on Wednesday, guiding his Bayern Munich team to a whopping 3-3 draw in the matchday 4 (6) of the second round of the UEFA Youth League.
Swedish born Ghanaian striker, Jonah Kusi Asare scored Bayern's second goal in the 70th minute as his side aimed to secure progression into the third round of the tournament.
Being in a superb pathway, Bayern are now just two legs away from qualifying for the last 32 in the proper tournament and will face PSG U19 on November 26, with kick-off at 3:00pm for the honour of doing so.
Before this match, Bayern were not at their free-flowing best just days (23rd October) after Maric’s U19s were thumped 3-1 in Matchday 3 of the UEFA Youth League by Barcelona U19.
The exciting Jonah Kusi-Asare has now scored two goals in this season's UEFA Youth League. He notched his first goal in their match against Aston Villa U19 on October 2, at the Bodymoor Heath Training ground in Birmingham.
