Ghana international Jordan Ayew was on target again for Leicester City in a resounding victory over Ipswich Town in the English Championship on Saturday.

Leicester City secured their eighth win of the season after beating Ipswich Town 3-1 in their match-week 21 game at the King Power Stadium.

Fatawu hit an incredible effort from outside the centre circle over the backpedalling Ipswich goalkeeper Christian Walton as the Foxes put their recent woes behind them in fine style.

The win eases the pressure on Leicester manager Marti Cifuentes, with Bobby De Cordova-Reid opening the scoring with a superb 30-yard strike.

Jordan Ayew tapped home the third before Jens Cajuste pulled one back for Ipswich, who lost for only the second time in their past 11 league games.

Leicester went into the game having won four of their previous 16 games - and only one at the King Power Stadium - since beating Birmingham at home at the end of August.

But they got off to the perfect start when De Cordova-Reid netted for the third successive match to open the scoring after just eight minutes with a wonderful long-range effort.

Leicester countered after Marcelino Nunez was dispossessed and De Cordova-Reid received the ball from Luke Thomas before letting fly.

As fine as that strike was, it was eclipsed by Fatawu's goal of the season contender two minutes before the interval when he won possession, nutmegged Jack Taylor and scored left-footed from fully 65 metres out for his fourth of the season.

Fatawu had earlier seen a goalbound free-kick saved by Walton and Jack Clarke missed a big chance at 1-0, just minutes before the Ghana winger scored, when he shot unmarked straight at keeper Jakub Stolarczyk from 12 yards out.

Cifuentes, who once again left out Harry Winks, saw his side blow a two-goal half-time lead against Bristol City in midweek, but the Foxes made no mistake this time as they made it 3-0 on 52 minutes.

Yet again, Ipswich were caught napping and Leif Davis was at fault as Ricardo Pereira squared the ball for Ayew to tap home his fourth league goal of the season.

Cajuste pulled one back for Ipswich on 71 minutes when he pounced on Stolarczyk's attempted goal-kick to Oliver Skipp, but Leicester defended stoutly to complete an impressive win.

Leicester move up to eighth, just three points off the play-off places and fifth-placed Ipswich.

Ayew has now scored four goals and provided an assist in 18 games for Leicester City in the English Championship this season.
