Black Stars and Fenerbahce SK's defender Alexander Djiku has stated their preseason is going on very well so far and are looking to adapt to the new playing style introduced by the new manager.
The 29-year-old joined the Yellow Canaries last summer and had a fantastic campaign having featured in most of their matches they narrowly lost the league title to Galatasaray.
The Turkish giants have appointed veteran gaffer Jose Mourinho on a two-year deal to lead them in the upcoming season, coming as replacement for Ismail Kartal.
In an interview on the club's official TV channel, the bulky center-back is gradually enjoying life under the Portuguese gaffer and added he is one of the greatest tacticians in the game and feels very elated to play under him.
"Our training is going well. We have a friendly match coming up, and it is approaching. We are increasing our level and rhythm. Last year, there was a good and quality team. Many players continue this year as well," he told Fenerbahce TV.
“We are trying to understand and establish our coach's game tactics and philosophy. He is truly a great coach and tactician. He has won everything throughout his career and is a football legend. Benefiting from his experience makes us very happy," he added.
He has been very impressive so far having scored seven or more ratings on Sofascore in three out of the four matches played; against Admira Wacker, Hull City and his former club Strasbourg.
Fenerbahce SK will face Swiss side FC Lugano in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League second round qualification on July 23, 2024.
