Ghanaian international Joseph Aidoo reached a major milestone over the weekend, marking his 150th appearance for Celta Vigo despite their 3-0 home defeat to Real Oviedo in round 31 fixture of the La Liga over the weekend.
The commanding centre-back, who joined the Sky Blues in 2019 from KRC Genk, has grown into a mainstay in the team despite battling injuries at some point.
Aidoo’s milestone places him among the club’s top 50 all-time appearance makers, a testament to his durability and importance since arriving in Spain. Among the current squad, he ranks second only to captain Iago Aspas in terms of longevity.
The Ghana international is expected to feature again when Celta Vigo host SC Freiburg, where compatriot Daniel-Kofi Kyereh plays, in the Europa League quarter-final second leg at the Estadio de Balaídos.
As he continues to build on his impressive club career, Aidoo will also be aiming to secure a place in Ghana’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
